Integrating Google Tag Manager (GTM) with your platform allows you to efficiently manage and deploy your website's marketing tags (snippets of code) without modifying the codebase. This integration streamlines tag management, enhances website performance, and provides greater marketing and analytics tracking flexibility.

The Google Tag Manager code needs to be inserted on your website.

Establish a connection between Hushly and Google Tag Manager

  • From the Left Nav Menu, click  Setup > Integrations.
  • On the Integrations page, click on +New Integration.
  • From the Integration pop-up window, select Google Tag Manager and click Activate.
  • Google Tag Manager pop-up appears, displaying a list of Events that can be tracked, each with a Toggle button.
    • Content View - When a user views the content across Hushly Modules (Hubs, ABM Pages, Experiences, etc..)
    • Content Interaction - When a user interacts with Content.
    • Form View - Tracks when a user views a form.
    • Invalid Form Submit - User submits a form with invalid data.

    • Form Submit - User submits a form with valid data.
    • Content Download -Tracks when users download content assets.

    • Embed Stream Item Click - User clicks on a Stream Item CTA in an Embed Stream.
    • Web Experience Impression - Users who viewed the Personalized Web Page.
    • Conversion: A conversion is a specific activity performed by web visitors. There are two types of Conversions:
      • Primary Conversions: Key actions that directly contribute to business goals (e.g., form submissions, content downloads).
      • Secondary Conversions: Supporting actions that indicate user interest but are not the main goal (e.g., content views, CTA clicks).

  • Click Activate Google Tag Manager after you have toggled the Events to be tracked in the GTM container.
  • The Integrations page shows the Google Tag Manager status as enabled with a success message.
    • A Green indicator signifies that the Integration is fully operational.
    • A Yellow indicator suggests that the operational status is currently unknown

    • A Red indicator denotes a non-operational Integration, with the reason for failure accessible via a tooltip on the red indicator.

  • When the user visits your website, the Hushly Events information is passed from your website to your Google Tag Manager container. You can then use that information to populate variables and activate triggers in your tag configurations.
