RSS Feed Guidelines

Modified on Thu, 26 Aug, 2021 at 7:47 AM

With Hushly and RSS Feed working together it is possible to distribute up-to-date content and add articles as Assets, that can be used in Experience and Hubs. You should be aware of these guidelines while creating RSS Feeds.

Before you Begin:

  • Copy the RSS feed URL from the blog's page source to create RSS feeds in Hushly.

  • Once the RSS Feed URL is created in Hushly, it cannot be changed.

  • With Hushly, you will be able to pull the full blog posts, including images, into your Hub. The maximum number of posts that you can pull into Hushly is 200.

  • Hushly allows you to activate and pause the RSS Feed blog post.

  • If the Image thumbnail is not exposed as in the RSS Feed Blog, then it won’t be generated after syncing.

Importing and Updating RSS Feed:

  • Hushly copies all the content that is provided in the RSS Feed URL and imports it into the Content Tab.

  • The Original blog post must still be available in the RSS Feed to update or import other articles.

  • In Hushly's RSS Feeds Page, the Last Synced column display the last successful update date and the No of entries reflects the count of Assets that got created.

  • Hushly initiates an hourly job that checks the RSS feed connected to a Blog Stream for updates made or newly added posts in the feed.
    • When a new article is added to the Blog Stream, a  new asset gets created in hushly.
    • When an existing article is updated in the Blog Stream, the asset gets updated accordingly.

  • If the Last Synced column is more recent on the RSS Feeds page, it is assumed that the RSS Feed is updated to the latest.

  • If you delete the original blog post, the imported item will not be deleted.
