You can update the details of an existing RSS Feed through the Configure and Automation Rule tabs. Note that all fields can be modified except the Feed URL, which remains fixed once the feed is created.
To edit the RSS Feed, follow the steps below:
- From the Left Nav Menu, click Assets.
- On the Assets page, click RSS Feeds.
- On the RSS Feeds page, click on the three-dot menu under the Action column for the RSS Feed you would like to edit and click Edit.
Editing the Configure Tab:
Under the Configure tab, you can modify the RSS Feed Name, Asset Type, Sync Category Field, Remove Asset With Feed Entry, Download Thumbnail Image, and Folder. Once you've made your changes, click Update.
Note:
- The RSS Feed URL cannot be changed as it is created with the RSS Feed, and the sync job is initiated hourly.
- Asset Type / Sync Category Fields, if modified, on the next Sync run, these values would get associated with the Web article Asset when an Item is added or updated in the RSS feed.
- A confirmation message is displayed.
Editing the Automation Rules:
- Under the Automation tab, all automation rules are listed. To make changes, click the Edit link next to the rule you want to modify.
- In the Edit Automation Rule window, you can modify the Rule Name, Rules, and Actions. Once you've made your changes, click Update.
Note: All updated changes will apply only to the next items that get synced.
- A confirmation message is displayed.
Deleting the Automation Rules:
Deleting an RSS feed involves removing it from your system, along with all associated assets. Once the Feed is deleted, it cannot be restored unless it is added again.
To delete the RSS Feed, follow the steps below:
- From the Left Nav Menu, click Assets.
- On the Assets page, click RSS Feeds.
- On the RSS Feeds page, click the three-dot and select Delete.
- The Delete RSS Feed pop-up appears, asking the user to type "confirm" as a form of written consent. Once the text is entered, the Delete button is activated. Click Delete, and the RSS Feed is removed from the listing page.
Note: Deleting the RSS Feed will also permanently delete all associated assets from all Streams and the Assets Listing page, and they cannot be recovered.
