Marketing and Content Marketing departments create useful and industry-specific content for prospects and customers. However, the user finds it difficult to sift through and locate content that resonates with their industry. Also, after reading an article, the user has to search and choose another article or ebook to read.
The sheer amount of content and the acts of searching and choosing lead to a huge cognitive overload resulting in content abandonment, high bounce rates, reduced on-page time, reduced returning traffic.
Therefore, it is only logical to have a mechanism to categorize content to make it findable and make personalized content recommendations to alleviate the burden of choosing. The solution: Hubs.
Hubs include Streams. A Stream is a content track with a group of related content Assets such as articles, e-books, case studies, and videos.
Hubs gate your content, provide content previews to engage customers, and provide full access to the content upon receiving the business email of the user. You could also learn more about Hushly's Hub in this video.
A Hub is hosted on a subdomain of your website. For example, if https://yourwebsite.com refers to your business, https://yourwebsite.com/blog can be your Hub.
Important: Hubs are a custom functionality. Therefore, if you don’t see Hubs in the Left Nav Menu, ask your Hushly customer success manager to enable Hubs.
Note: If you have a website that showcases a single product, you can define one Hub. On the other hand, if your site caters to multiple products, you can create multiple Hubs to act as micro-content sites on your website.
Benefits of Using a Hub
You can empower your content strategy in many ways using a Hub:
- Asset previews drive user engagement based on value.
- Customized content tracks, also known as Streams, present the relevant content to the users to drive the engagement higher.
- Customized content recommendations bring relevant content to users and eliminate the need to search for content.
- All content on your website is gated. With Hushly managing the gating, you will receive more leads.
- Each Asset’s performance is tracked. The metrics help you to create more of the desired content and improve or retire the non-performing content.
