Creating a Hub

Modified on Thu, 13 Feb at 4:26 AM

To Create a Hub follow the steps below:

  1. From the Left Nav Menu, click Hubs.

  2. On the Hubs page, click Create Hub.

  3. In the Create Hub pop-up window, enter the Name and Description.

  4. Click the Select Domain drop-down list and Select the domain that will host the Hub. Once you associate a Hub with a domain it cannot be associated with another hub.

  5. Click Save.

  6. By default, the dashboard page is displayed, click Options.

  7. The Hub Options page displays the Hub name and description with the values you entered earlier. The Name and Description fields are editable but the Domain field is not. We also see the Hub version displayed, as well as a section below for Settings.
Note: Status displays the Hub's status (Draft/Active/Inactive).

  8. The Hub Options tab also displays the Hub’s Status, Domain, and Version.
Status: To activate the Hub, click Publish.Note: You can only publish a Hub when adding at least one Stream.
Click here to learn how to add Streams to the Hub.

    •  To disable the Hub, click Deactivate
    •  To re-enable the Hub, click Reactivate.
    • To delete the Hub, click Delete Hub.
  9. Click Settings to expand the section.
The section expands displaying various functionalities under Settings.
    Functionality under Settings:
    • Hide from Search Engines: By default, the toggle button is set to "No", search engines can index the hub. Toggling to "Yes" will prevent search engines from indexing the hub (it is up to the search engines to honor this request).

    • Auto Play Videos: By default the toggle button is set to "Yes". When the user clicks on a video content on the hubs page, the SNLP page opens with the video content playing as soon as the page loads. Toggling the option to "No", the video content will not play automatically, you need to click on the play button to play the video.

    • Form: From the Form drop-down, you can select the form you wish to use. Forms can be created under Hushly left Navigation menu > Forms. If no form is selected the default Hushly form will be displayed in runtime.

Note: The selected Form will be shown to the Visitor for all the Assets in the Hub unless a preferred Form is set at the Asset level.

    • Pass-through UTM Parameters: When a user arrives on your site by clicking a link with UTM parameters from a Google Ads campaign, Pass-through ensures that those UTM parameters are retained and appended to every link the user clicks on the page.

    • Enable RSS Feed: To read more about enabling RSS Feeds, click here.

    • Sandbox: When the Global Canonical URL is configured at the admin level for a customer, the canonical URL for the stream item will be consistent across all hubs in Hushly, enabling search engines to index the asset using the same URL. Since the system cannot differentiate between a Sandbox Hub and a Production Hub, it displays the canonical URL for all hubs, including the Sandbox. As a result, when the Sandbox option is enabled, the Canonical URL should be left blank when adding assets from the Sandbox Hub to the Production Hub.

  10. Click Save which is placed at the bottom corner of the page.
