Hubs are accessible to anyone who wants to visit and browse content. However, for certain Hubs, you may want to restrict access to a specific audience. Hushly provides multiple options to keep content safe from unauthorized visitors by limiting access and securing your Hub.
Hushly gives you three options to secure your Hub:
- Public - Open to anyone with the link.
- By Password - Only users with the set password can access.
- By Email - Access is limited to approved email addresses or domains.
To secure your Hub, follow the steps below:
1. From the Left Nav menu, go to Hubs and select the Hub you wish to secure.
2. On the Hub menu, click on Security.
How do you want to secure your Hub?'
Public
To make your Hub accessible to the Public, select the Public option and click Save. Anyone can access your Hub.
Note: The Public option is selected by default
By Password
To make your Hub accessible to people who have a designated password, select the By Password option.
- Provide a re-authentication time for your passwords. This allows the user to access the Hub within the specified time. Once the session time expires, the user must re-enter the password.
Use the following formats to designate the session time: xx minutes, xx hours, or xx days.
Examples: 1 minute / 30 minutes, 1 hour / 24 hours, 1 day / 25 days, 2 days, 10 hours 30 minutes.
Note: The maximum value of a session is 180 days. - To create a Password, enter it in the field provided, then click the +Add button.
- A password must contain 6 characters and at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.
- To create multiple passwords, follow the same process.
- Click Save.

By Email
When you secure your Hub using two-factor authentication, it is only accessible to people whose emails or company domains have been designated.
To add emails or domains:
- Provide a re-authentication time for your passwords. This allows the user to access the Hub within the specified time. Once the session time expires, the user must re-enter the password.
Use the following formats to designate the session time: xx minutes, xx hours, or xx days.
Examples: 1 minute / 30 minutes, 1 hour / 24 hours, 1 day / 25 days, 2 days, 10 hours 30 minutes.
Note: The maximum value of a session is 180 days.
- Enter an email or a domain in the field provided.
- Adding an email address will grant access to the Hub for that particular email user after verification.
Example: A user's company email address.
When a visitor enters an email that is included in the list, a verification code will be sent to their inbox. On entering the provided verification code, the visitor will be able to access the Hub. - Adding a Domain will grant access to all the emails that belong to the added domain after verification.
Example: Enter a company domain; hushly.com
When a visitor enters an email with the listed domain, a verification code will be sent to their inbox. On entering the provided verification code, the visitor will be able to access the Hub.
- Adding an email address will grant access to the Hub for that particular email user after verification.
- Click Save.
