Personalizing Content Recommendations
Recommendation Rules (Hubs > RULES & AUTOMATION > Recommendation Rules) are used to create personalized content recommendations to the user, based on User Groups, Segments, etc.
Hushly provides for a Recommended for You section in a Stream. You can configure rules to display relevant Assets from other Streams in this section. If a recommended Asset is also part of the Stream, the Asset is not displayed in the Recommended for You section.
To create a Recommendation Rule, follow the steps below:
From the Left Navigation Menu, click Hubs. On the Hubs listing page, select the Hub you want to manage. From the Hub Menu, under RULES & AUTOMATION, click Recommendation Rules. On the Recommendation Rules listing page, click + New Rule.
On the New Recommendation Rule page make the necessary changes to the following sections:
Name this rule
Where recommendations appear
Which audiences see these recommendations
What can be recommended
How rules run
Click Create rule at the bottom of the page.
Name this rule
Only your team sees this. Visitors never do.
- Rule Name - Enter the name of the Rule in the Rule name field. This is a required field.
- Description - Enter a description of the Rule in the Description field.
- Rule is live - Turn off to save it as a draft.
Where recommendations appear
The streams this rule covers, and the spots inside them.
Which streams does this rule apply to?
All streams - Every stream in this hub.
Specific streams - Only the streams you choose.
Which spots inside those streams?
Next to an item - Beside a single piece of content, left or right.
Start of a stream - Above the stream, before the visitor begins.
Both spots - Shows on both item pages and stream pages.
How many to show - Maximum recommendations per placement.
Which audiences see these recommendations
Everyone, or a narrower set of audiences.
- Everyone - No audience filter.
- Saved segment - Reuse an existing segment.
- Custom conditions - Build a one-off audience.
What can be recommended
Choose the content pool this rule draws from.
- All streams - Anything in this hub.
- Specific streams - A curated set of streams. .
- AI engine - Let the engine choose the best match.
Inclusion rules - Only recommend content matching your conditions.
Exclusion rules - Never recommend content matching your conditions.
Click Create rule at the bottom of the page.
