Disabling Double Opt-In

Modified on Tue, 15 Oct at 5:16 AM

Double opt-in is a process used to ensure that users explicitly confirm their interest before being granted access to downloadable content. The key reasons for using double opt-in for downloading content are improved lead quality, email verification, compliance with data protection laws (GDPR), and reduction of spam and fake entries -- in addition to building trust with users, and transparency.

Overall, double opt-in improves the effectiveness of your marketing efforts by maintaining clean, engaged email lists and reducing unwanted or invalid sign-ups.

The Double Opt-In functionality is configured by default for every customer who is accepting form submissions from GDPR countries. When the end user submits the Hushly Form for an Experience, SNLP, or a Smart MicroForm, the user gets an email to download the content. When they click on the download button, the user is directed to the Double Opt-In page. This acceptance of the statement by clicking the check-box and downloading from the email inbox are required for a visitor to become a lead.

To disable the Double Opt-In functionality, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

When the Disable Double Opt-In is set to Yes, and the end user submits the Hushly Form for an Experience, SNLP, or a Smart MicroForm, they will receive the content via email. Upon clicking the download button, they can download the content directly without being prompted for Double Opt-In.
