Account-based Sales and Marketing requires a deep understanding of accounts and the ability to provide engaging interactions. A key part of this involves delivering tailored content when it's needed. Hushly and Demandbase make it easier for marketers and sales professionals to personalize experiences for customers.

Adding Demandbase as a data provider to your Hushly Account:

To set up Demandbase as a Hushly data provider.

  • As your Demandbase CSM to create a Hushy connector, and get the API key.

Note: You will see this option when your Hushly CSM creates a Hushly connector on Demandbase. Contact your CSM if you don't see the Connector.

  5. Find the Select Value field and paste the Field API Name that you copied earlier.

  6. Click Save.
Note: Provide the Segments created along with the Group Names and Field API Names to your Hushly Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Defining a Hushly Segment:

You can define a Hushly segment in two ways:

  • Mapping a Hushly segment to a Demandbase segment that exists in your Demandbase account.
    or
  • Build a Segment in Hushly using any of the Demandbase data attributes.

Best Practices:

While it’s possible to define a user segment in each Hushly experience or stream, to streamline your workflow, it is advisable to create a user segment once and then utilize that defined segment as required within any Hushly Experience or Stream.

Defining a Hushly Segment that is mapped to an existing Demandbase Segment:

Choose the Demandbase Segment option on the left side field, pick a comparison operator, and then input the Segment name into the text value field.

Segment defined using Demandbase Attributes:

Choose the field on the left side, select a comparison operator, and input a text value or make a selection from a list.

Associating a Segment with an Experience

Once you've set up a segment, you can provide customized content to users in that segment within the What section of the Experience.

Follow these steps when creating a new Experience or editing an existing one:

  1.  Click Add Assets.
  2. To provide customized content for the Demandbase Segment you created earlier, choose a segment from the Personalize options within the "Add Assets to Experience" pop-up window.
  3. Choose the assets you wish to include. You can find them by searching or using the advanced search options.

  4.  Pick the assets you want by checking the boxes, then click Add Assets to include them in the segment.
  5. Click Next to move to the When tab, and when you're finished, click Publish to make the Experience live.

    Important:
To preview and test the Experience, refer to Previewing the Experience and Testing the Experience respectively. You can preview or test the Experience before or after publishing the Experience.

Experience at Runtime:

Users whose profiles match the rules defined for the Experience on the webpage will see the Experience with personalized content.

For users who don't match the defined rules for the Experience on the webpage, the default content is shown.

Associating a Segment with a Hub

You can use the defined Segments within a Hub. Recommendation rules (found in Hubs > Recommendation Rules) are utilized to generate personalized content recommendations for users, depending on their user groups

Hushly provides a Recommended for You section in a Stream. You have the ability to set up rules that will customize the content displayed in this section.

To Personalize Content Recommendations:

  1. From the Hubs pageclick the Hub. From the Hubs menu, click Recommendation Rules.

  2. On the Recommendation Rules page, click Add Rule in the upper-right corner of the page.

  3. Enter the Name and Description of the recommendation rule.

  4. Select All Streams to apply the recommendation rule to all the Streams.
  5. Select Both to show the Recommended Section for You, above the Stream when viewing the Stream and in the left pane when viewing the Asset.
  6. Set a number for Maximum Recommendations.
  7. Under Rules, select Segment. Choose the Demandbase Segment created above from the dropdown menu.
  8. In the Recommend From section, select Specific Streams. Enter the Stream name, and Select a Stream from the list of Streams displayed. The Assets are recommended only from the selected Stream.
  9. Click Save.

Hub at Runtime:

During runtime, when users' profiles match with the defined Segment rule upon accessing the Hub page, they will see the Recommended For You section.

The same recommendation will also appear at the item level for this user.

For all other users who access the Hub page, the Recommended For You section is not shown.

The remaining Assets of the Stream will be displayed in the recommendations at the item level for this user.
