Hiding an Asset

Hidden at Asset Level: When an Asset is set to be Hidden at the Asset level, it means that regardless of whether this Asset is added to a Stream in the Hub, it will remain invisible to any end-user or visitor who accesses that Stream. In other words, even though the Asset is technically present in the Stream, it won't be shown to the visitors who are viewing the Stream.

To Hide an Asset at the Asset Level:

  1. From the Left Nav Menu, click Assets.
  2. On the Assets page > Click on the Asset you wish to Hide.
  3. Go to the Setup tab.

    Scroll to the options.

  4. By default, the Hidden button is set to No. Toggle the button to Yes to hide this Asset in the Hub.

Note: If an asset is set as hidden, it will not appear on any streams where it has been included.

Hidden at Stream Level: When an Asset is set as hidden at the Stream level, the Asset will not be visible only within the particular Stream. When a Visitor accesses the Stream, they won't be able to see the Asset that's hidden at the Stream level. It will, however, remain visible on any other streams to which it has been added.

To Hide the Asset at Stream Level:

  1. From the Left Nav Menu, click Hubs > Select a Hub.
  2. On the Hub options, click on Streams > Select Stream.
  3. Hover over the Asset you want to hide and click Edit.

  4. The Edit item pop-up window opensscroll down to find the Hidden toggle. If set to Yes, the Asset will be Hidden only within this particular Stream.

Note: If the Asset is hidden within the Asset Level, it will remain hidden on all Streams, regardless of whether the Item setting on the Stream level is configured to be hidden or not.

  5. Asset Hidden status displays the value set at the Asset Level.

  6. When you hide an Asset you see the hidden icon displayed on the Asset.

You don't see the hidden Asset in the run time.

In both cases, Assets can be made inaccessible to users, either within a particular Stream or across the entire Hub, depending on how the "hidden" settings are applied at the asset and stream levels. This offers a way to control and manage the visibility of content for different user groups or scenarios.
