The Default Value is to be set for the custom field when a Lead is created. Default values can be entered manually or they can be assigned from other sources.
Assigning a Default Value Manually: You can enter the default value of the field.
Assigning a Default Value through a source: You can obtain a default value from the dynamic sources such as parameters, cookies, and hidden fields, by clicking the button.
The Following Table describes in detail the different sources from a default value can be assigned.

URL Parameter | The URL parameter is assigned in the default custom field and used at run time. This parameter is viewed in the additional information column on the lead details page. | You can assign by entering the URL Parameter. |
Cookie | Allows you to prepopulate the field using a specific cookie’s value; if the cookie is present in the user’s browser, its value will be used as the default for the custom field. | You can specify the cookie from which the default value should be retrieved. |
Hidden Field | The hidden field is to submit data that is not entered by the user. | Enter the name of the hidden field from which the default value should be retrieved. |
Asset Field | The Asset Fields that are displayed in the list are created using Field Management > Asset Fields. | You can assign an asset field from the drop-down list |
Variable | Variable fields can be defined to manage Experiences or Hubs. | You can select the Variable from the drop-down list. |
