Automating the Addition of Assets to a Stream

You can automate the addition of Assets to a Stream using the automation rules.

Important: When you create an automation rule, it is likely that some Assets exist in the Assets section of Hushly. The automation rule is not applied retroactively to the existing Assets. You have to apply the rule to the existing Assets by clicking Apply on All Existing Assets.

To automate the addition of Assets to a Stream:

1. From the Hubs menu, click Automation.
   
   
2. Click Add Rule.
    
3. Enter a Name for the automation rule. As a best practice, consider naming it based on the stream you are creating the rule for, which can help you easily identify and manage rules associated with specific streams. 
4. In the events section, select the event that triggers the automation, Asset Create or Update. Note: Click the Add new Event link to include an additional event. Currently, only the Asset Create or Update event is supported.
   
   
5. In the rule section, click the drop-down list to select the Asset by Name, Title, Type, Tag, RSS Feed Language, or Catalog field. 
   Select an operator from the drop-down.
   For example, the rule below selects Assets Type > Equals > EBook.Note: Click Add Filter to add more rules. When you add more than one rule (optional), you can define which rules should be used to select an Asset.
   
   
6. In the Match Any Rules section.
   • Match Any: The recommendation rule is launched when at least one criterion matches the rule.
   • Match All: The recommendation rule is launched when all criteria match the rule.
   • Match Advanced: The recommendation rule is launched when all the advanced criteria match the rule. Note: To know more about rules on how to define rules, and match the rules, refer to the topic, More About Rules.
7. Sort the rules using the handle, (optional). The rules are applied in the order they appear, from top to bottom.
   
   
8. In the perform these actions section, click the Select arrow to view the list of Streams available. Select a Stream from the list.  Note: You can add more streams in this section by clicking on the Add new Action link.
   
   
9. Click Save. 

Automation rules are not automatically applied to existing Assets. To include them, click Apply on All Existing Assets links, ensuring the rules are retroactively applied.

• The wand icon signifies that an Asset has been automatically added to the Stream based on pre-defined automation rules.
•  Hover over the wand icon to see which automation rule added the Asset to the Stream.
