You can define custom fields for Leads to add additional information. The additional information, when published to your Marketing Automation Platform (MAP) can be used to categorize the leads based on the users.
A custom field defined for Leads is available to all Leads managed by Hushly. However, you can define, edit, and delete the custom lead fields. Once defined, they are always associated with the leads published by Hushly.
To add a Custom Lead Field, you can follow the below steps:
- From the Left Nav, under Setup click Field Management.
- By default, the Lead Fields page is displayed with the Standard and Custom Lead fields.
- Click New Custom Field.
- In the Add Custom Field pop-up, enter the Name of the Custom Field.
- The Code field is auto-generated from the name, modify the code if required. This field serves internal purposes to capture the button-click event
- By default, the Hidden button is set to No. You set it to Yes to hide the field from appearing in the Leads > Lead Fields (optional).
- Click the Field Type drop-down list.
Using Field Type, you can define two types of fields:- Select Picklist to provide a list of choices.
- Enter the Picklist values (labels).
- Click +Add Value to add values (labels).
- The values will display in the order they were added but can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them into the desired sequence.
Note: When the form field is used anywhere for Experiences, Stream items, or Hubs the picklist will be displayed in the order that you sort here. - The values can also be sorted by clicking on the Sort Alphabetically link.
- Click the Show Internal Values link. The Internal values labels are displayed alongside the configured values. You can make changes (optional). Click the Hide Column link to hide the Internal Value column.
- Click Save. The Custom field is created.
- Alternatively, select Textbox to provide for entering text.
- Click the Data Type drop-down list and select String for accepting text input or Number to accept numeric input into the field.
- Enter a Default Value (optional).
- Select Picklist to provide a list of choices.
- Enter the Default Value of the field.
Optionally, you can obtain a default value from the dynamic sources such as parameters, cookies, and hidden fields by clicking the button.
- Select a source.
- Enter a Default Value for the selected source.
- Click Assign.
- Click Save.
- The Lead Custom Field is added to the list of lead fields with the icon.
