Element Id (Anchoring)

Modified on Thu, 25 Jul at 3:29 AM

You may have a long web page with multiple sections and want to create a link that takes the user directly to a specific section of the page. You can use the Element Id of the Page Block you want to link to in order to create that action.

For example, if you have a section with the Element Id "promotion1", you can create a link that points to that section by using the URL: "http://example.com/page.html#promotion1" or you can use CTA that on click it would direct the user to the anchor element.

To add an Element Id, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Left Navigation Menu and click on ABM, then select Pages.

  2. From, the Page listing, choose the page where you want to add the Element Id.

  3. On the ABM Page Editor, click on the Page Block where you wish to direct the visitor.

  4. In the right menu, click on the Advanced tab.

  5. In the Element Id field, give a unique name that becomes the Element Id. For example, you can use "promotion1".

  6. Now, you can use this Element Id to link to that specific block/section of a page in two ways:
    • Add the # symbol followed by the Element Id name (#promotion1) to the URL and it will take the visitor to that specific ABM Page Block.
    • With the CTA option, use the # symbol followed by the Element Id name (#promotion1) in the URL field to go to a specific block on the ABM Page or add the URL with the # Symbol followed by the Element Id to take the visitor to that specifiC.
