What is a Static Cluster?
Static Clusters are predefined and have a fixed set of accounts associated with them. Accounts with common characteristics or functionalities are grouped or associated with a cluster.
What is a Dynamic Cluster?
A Dynamic Cluster is created based on Segment rules which can be used to create an account through the ABM Page.
When to choose a Static/Dynamic Cluster?
When constructing an ABM Page you would have a Default page variation and you can also create a Variation for this page and specify a Cluster for which you would like to target this Variation.
When you already have a well-defined Account set - you will construct a Static Cluster and associate it with the Page Variations
When you don't have a defined list of Accounts but have a third-party Data provider like 6Sense to identify users accessing your pages. Dynamic Cluster with Segment rules with the 6Sense data fields can be defined and associated with the Page Variations.
How does a Static Cluster behave at Runtime?
The ABM Page that is predefined with the account sets and associated with the common cluster during the run time passes a parameter in URL with the string " ?acc=domain name" stating from which existing account the user is accessing/viewing the ABM Page.
How does a Dynamic Cluster behave at Runtime?
The ABM Page that is accessed through third-party at the run time passes a parameter in URL with the string "?hly-ip-address= the domain of the user / the IP address of the user" which provides information of the user based on the IP address through data providers like 6sense and the account gets created as a dynamic cluster.
