Adding an Account Custom Field

Account Custom Account Fields carry additional information about an account. When published to your Marketing Automation Platform (MAP), the additional can be used to categorize the leads based on the Accounts the users consumed.  You can define the Custom Account Fields and associate them with any account.


To add a Custom Account Field, you can follow the below steps:

  1. From the Left Nav, under Setup click Field Management.

  2. Click the drop-down arrow to view the list and select Account.


    The standard and custom fields of an account are displayed. The custom fields are denoted by the icon. 

  3. Click New Custom Field.

  4. In the Add Custom Field pop-up window, enter the Name of the custom field.

  5. Edit the Code as needed. This code is auto-generated when you enter a name and is used to capture button-click events. This field is intended for internal use only.
     
  6. By default, the Hidden button is set to  No. Set it to Yes (optional) to hide the field.
     
  7. Click the  Field Type drop-down list. Select the Picklist to provide a list of choices. Alternatively, select Textbox to provide text entry.

  • Select Picklist to provide a list of choices.
    • Add Default Value (optional).
    • Click +Add Value to add values(labels).
    • The values will display in the order they were added but can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them into the desired sequence. 
    •  The values can also be sorted by clicking on the Sort Alphabetically link. 
    • Click the Show Internal Values link. The Internal values labels are displayed alongside the configured values. You can make changes (optional). Click the Hide Column link to hide the Internal Value column.


    • Click Save. The custom field is created.

  • Alternatively, select Textbox to enter a value.
    • Click the Data Types drop-down list.

    • Select the String for accepting text input or Number to accept numeric input into the field.
       
    • Enter the Default Value of the field.

    • Click Save. The custom field is created.
