Setting Up a Vidyard Video Asset

Creating a video content pulled in from your Vidyard account involves the following tasks:

Creation of a Vidyard Video Asset:

  1. From the Left Nav Menu, click Assets.   
  2. On the Assets listing page, click Upload Asset.    
  3. On the Create Asset pop-up window, select the Asset Type, Video. 
  4. In the Create Asset window, enter the details.


    • Enter the Name of the video Asset, and the title will auto-populate. 

      Important: When the name of an Asset reflects the content, it makes content categorization and selection easy. The user is shown the title when engaging with the Asset.


    • Click on Choose under Folder to select a Folder for the Asset. To learn more about Folder, click here.

    • Select the Asset Type and Language from the available options; English is the default language.
       
    • By default, the Ungated button is set to No. However, if you want to make the whole video visible to the user, toggle the button to Yes. 
    • When the Ungated button is toggled to Yes, the Allow Anonymous Download button is displayed. By default, the toggle is set to No. However, if you want to, you can toggle it to Yes. 
    • Select the Vidyard radio button to choose among the options. The default options are Youtube and Vimeo.
       
    •  Enter the Vidyard Video name and select the video from the drop-down. This video is presented to the user before showing the opt-in form. Click on the Fetch icon to retrieve the latest video uploads from your Wistia account.
    • Enter the Fulfillment URL. When the user opts in, an email is sent to their email address. Click Save. 
      The email includes a download link. When the user clicks the download link, the user is redirected to the page indicated by the fulfillment URL.

       

  5. You are redirected to the Setup tab of the Asset. On the Setup tab, fill in the various parameters of the Asset.

    Note: The mandatory information fields of the Setup tab, name, title, type, preview URL, and fulfillment URL are filled with the values you have already configured earlier. You can make the necessary changes to all of them.

    Important: All the fields in the above window are grouped into sections, as per usage, namely,

      
    • Metadata: Name, Title, Description, Type, Language, Fulfillment URL, Excerpt, Time, Description, Vidyard Video, and Folder.
    • Options: Ungated, Preview Start Time, Preview Time, Opt-in Message, Hidden, and Email Template. 
    • Thumbnails: Thumbnail 1 and Thumbnail 2. Thumbnail 2 is not supported in V3
    • Catalog Fields: All Catalog Fields created in Setup > Field Management > Assets will be displayed here.
    • SEO: SEO Title, SEO Description, and Canonical URL.  
    • Custom Fields: All Custom Fields created in Setup > Field Management > Assets will be displayed here.

  6. Metadata Section:
    • Name, Title, Folder, LanguageType, and Vidyard Video are filled during the Create Asset process.
    • Excerpts are seen on the tiles of the Hub, at the Stream level. An Excerpt is a summary or preview of the asset content, used to give readers a quick overview before engaging with the full content. 

      It is limited to 200 characters.
      The excerpts are available only on V3 hubs.
       

       
    • Enter the Fulfillment URL. The fulfillment URL hosts the ungated Asset.
      • If the Fulfillment URL is configured, the user is redirected to the URL.
      • If the Fulfillment URL is not configured, the user views the entire Asset, and any related content, hosted on a Hushly domain, app.hushly.com/asset.
         
    • Enter a Description. 
    • The Vidyard Video field is automatically populated with the video name entered during the creation process. 
    • The Folder location is displayed in the field. You can change the location by clicking the Choose button. 
  7. Options Section:
    • In the Options section, if the Ungated button is set to No, enter the preview start time you want to showcase the video content preview. By default, the video will play from the start. However, if you prefer the video to start from a given time, mention the value in seconds. Say you configure the preview start time as 20 and the preview time as 10, your video starts playing from the 20th second and plays for 10 seconds

      Important: You could enter the Preview time you wish the video to play; by default, it's 30 seconds.

      Note:

      When you want to make the entire video available through the preview, set the Ungated button to Yes; the Preview Start Time and Preview Time will not be displayed, as the entire video is shown to the user.

      When the Ungated button is set to Yes, the Anonymous Download button is displayed, and set to No, you can set it to Yes to allow the anonymous download to take place. 

    •  Optionally, enter an Opt-in Message. The user sees this message above the opt-in form used for providing the business email.Important: If you don’t configure an Opt-in message, a default Opt-in message will be displayed.
       

    • Optionally, click Tokens to use them in the opt-in message. Use the {{asset.name}}, {{asset.type}}, and {{asset.content.type}} tokens to refer to the Asset information dynamically.
      The use of tokens helps to prevent typos in Asset names, saves time, and reflects changes in the Asset information. 

    • By default, the Hidden button is set to No. However, if you want to hide this Asset in Hubs, toggle the button to Yes.


    • You can attach a specific Email Template to the Asset. When a user submits the opt-in form with a business email for this Asset, the email template configured here will be sent to the user. Click on Preview to view the Email Template.
       
    • Content Conversation is an optional module within Hushly. If this feature has been enabled on your account, it will appear. To enable this option, please contact your Customer Success Manager. To learn more about Content Conversation, click here

      The Enable Content Conversation option tracks the conversations between the user and the Mitab of the asset. 

      By default, the Enable Content Conversation button is set to NoHowever, toggle the button to Yes to enable the content conversation. To view the conversations that are saved in runtime, click View Conversation.


      A window opens and displays all the conversations between the user and the Mitab. 


       
  8. Thumbnails Section:
    • Thumbnail 1 (500x272 pixels).  The supported formats for Thumbnail 1 and Thumbnail 2 are JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, and WEBP.
    • Thumbnail 2 is not supported in V3.
  9. Catalog Section:
    • If you have defined Catalog fields using Setup > Field Management, you can select the fields to associate with the Asset. These fields help organize and classify assets by assigning relevant metadata, making it easier to manage, search, and filter content across the platform. 
    • Mitab Topics: MiTab Topics represent the primary thematic categories assigned to an asset. They indicate how closely the asset aligns with specific subject areas, helping the platform understand the asset’s relevance and intent.

      Each MiTab Topic is displayed with a percentage score, which reflects how strongly the content relates to that topic. For example, an asset may show 78% relevance to B2B Marketing and 78% relevance to Marketing Automation, indicating high relevance to both topics.

      Purpose of MiTab Topics:
      • Classify assets based on core subject matter

      • Improve content discovery and recommendations

      • Enable better targeting and personalization

      • Support analytics and reporting on content performance by topic

  10. SEO Section: 
    • Enter the SEO Title. The content of this field appears as the title in search engine results. This title is relevant when you are deploying Hubs.Important: If the SEO Title is not provided, the search results display the Asset Title as the SEO Title.
       
    • Enter an SEO Description. The content of this field appears as the description in search engine results. This description is relevant when you are deploying Hubs. 
    • This is how the SEO title and description will appear in real time on Google Search results. 
    • You can also use the Smart Assist (SEO Title and Description) beta link to automatically recommend an option that is most suitable for your asset's SEO Title and Description. Click here to learn how.
       
    • Enter a valid URL in the Canonical URL field. 
      Note:  
    • Search engines crawl the content of each page to build an extensive index of all the words and their locations on the page. They also analyze information within key content tags and attributes, such as <title> tags and alt attributes. To prevent search engines from indexing duplicate versions of the same page, a Canonical URL can be configured.
       
    • The manually configured Canonical URL will be applied globally across all Streams and Hubs, and the Global flag will not override this setting. If no Canonical URL is manually configured here, the Canonical URL defined at the stream level, for the first stream, will be automatically displayed in this field.

  11. Custom Fields Section: 
    • If you have defined Custom fields using Setup > Field Management, you can select the fields to associate with the Asset.
  12. Click Save.
     
  13. A confirmation message is displayed indicating that the asset has been updated successfully.
