Configuring the Exit Intent Suppression Rules

When an exit-intent suppression rule or a set of exit-intent suppression rules are satisfied, the exit-intent pop-ups configured for Experiences are suppressed.


To Configure an Exit-Intent Suppression Rule:

  1. From the Left Nav Menu, click Setup > Manage Rules > Exit Intent Suppression Rules.
     
  2. On the Exit Intent Suppression Rules page, click Match ANY Rule drop-down list to select from any of the three options to match the rules.
    Match Any: The exit-intent pop-up is suppressed when at least one rule matches the user’s state.
    Match All: The exit-intent pop-up is suppressed when all rules match the user’s state.
    Match Advanced: The exit-intent pop-up is suppressed when the combination of rules matches the user’s state.

    • Select a variable from the drop-down list. The list includes both predefined variables:


      Page URL: URL of the page where the Experience triggers.

      Page URL Path: Part of the page URL.

      Referrer URL: Reference URLs are the URLs that refer the user to the webpage.

      IP Address: IP address of the device accessing the webpage.

      Traffic Source: Search engine or website.


      Last Exit-Intent Pop-up Time

      The Last exit-intent pop-up rule is configured by entering the values and the following results are shown at runtime. For example, If the time value is 30 minutes, 

      • In Past:  If there is an activity in the same browser, the Asset preview popup will be displayed in runtime and after completion of 30 minutes, it will display the same Asset pop-up at runtime.

      • Not in Past: If there is no activity for 30 minutes in the same browser, the Asset preview popup will not be displayed in runtime, and If there is Activity the asset preview popup will be displayed in runtime.


    •  Data Provider fields, and the variables you have defined using Setup > Variables.
    • Select the relational operator. 
    • Enter a value.
    • Press Enter. The rule is saved.
          
  3. To define separate sets of rules, use Add Filter. Click Add Filter to add a new set of rules. 
  4. Match All Filters drop-down appears when you add more than one filter. 
  5. To add another rule, click  Add Rule in a filter and follow the above steps.
  6. Click Save Rules.
