Permissions

When you install Hushly Sales Assist, Chrome may list the permissions below. Here's what each one is for, in plain language:

Permission

What it means

Why the extension needs it

Tabs

See the address of your current tab

To detect when you're on a Salesforce record page so it can show that record's Hushly activity

Storage

Save data locally in your browser

To remember your sign-in, your accounts/activities, notifications, and settings between sessions

Cookies

Read cookies for sites you visit

To recognize which Salesforce org a page belongs to, so it shows the right account's data

Alarms

Run a task on a schedule

To check for new account/visitor activity about every 5 minutes and alert you

Identity

Use Chrome's secure sign-in window

To sign you in to Salesforce safely without handling your password directly

It also has access to specific websites (not all sites): Salesforce (salesforce.com, force.com) and Hushly (app.hushly.com, api.hushly.com, plus Hushly staging/dev addresses). The Salesforce access is what lets it read the record you're viewing; the Hushly access is how it loads your accounts, activities, and ABM pages.

Your Data and Privacy

This section explains what the extension can access and what it does with it. [VERIFY: review the bracketed details below against how the extension actually behaves and what Hushly's privacy policy states, then finalize the wording.]

  • What it watches: The extension only acts on Salesforce and Hushly pages. It checks your current tab's address to detect when you're on a Salesforce Account, Contact, or Lead record.

  • What's stored on your device: Your sign-in session, cached accounts and activities, notifications, and settings (including your Salesforce environment choice) are stored locally in your browser so they persist between sessions. Logging out clears this from the device, except your saved Salesforce environment choice.

  • What's sent to Hushly: To show your accounts, activities, and ABM pages, the extension loads that data from Hushly's servers.

  • Salesforce: When connected, the extension reads the record you're viewing to match it to Hushly activity. It signs you in through Chrome's secure sign-in window and does not handle your Salesforce password directly.

  • More information: For full details, see Hushly's privacy policy at https://www.hushly.com/privacy-policy

Troubleshooting

The toolbar icon is greyed out or the popup won't open. Make sure the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions. If it was just updated, close and reopen the popup.

Home says "See activities for this record" with a Connect button. You're on a Salesforce record but Salesforce isn't connected yet. Click Connect (or connect from Settings) and reopen the popup.

Home says "Different Salesforce org." You're connected to a different Salesforce org than the page you're viewing, so its activities can't load. Use Manage to go to Settings and reconnect to the correct org.

Home says "You're not an Account Rep." Your Hushly account isn't set up as an Account Rep, so there are no accounts to show. If you're an admin, switch to View All Accounts in Settings; otherwise ask your Hushly admin to add you as a rep.

Notifications aren't showing up. Alerts are generated in the background roughly every 5 minutes, and only when you have accounts with activity, so brand-new or quiet accounts may show none. Make sure you're signed in. Opening the popup clears the red count on the bell (that's expected), but your alerts remain on the Notifications screen until you dismiss them.

My personalized link won't generate. The Personalized URL bar stays as "Select an ABM page to generate a personalized link" until you've chosen an ABM Page and an Account. Pick both, then the link and Copy button appear.

Sign-in with Salesforce fails or shows an error. Salesforce sign-in is federated, so it only works if you have a Hushly account with the same email address as your Salesforce account; if the emails don't match, sign in with Hushly instead and connect to Salesforce from Settings. Also check that you're using the right environment (Production vs Sandbox) on the Options page or when signing in, then try again.

Company logos look like colored initials instead of real logos. That's the normal fallback when a logo can't be loaded; nothing is broken.

I logged in but want to use a different account. Open Settings and click Log out, then sign in again. Logging out clears the previous user's data from this device.

FAQ

  1. Do I need Salesforce to use this?

No. You can sign in with Hushly alone and use accounts, activities, notifications, and PURLs. Salesforce is optional; it adds the on-page context features when you're browsing Salesforce records.

  2. What's the difference between "Log in with Hushly" and "Log in with Salesforce"?

Both sign you in. Log in with Salesforce also connects Salesforce in one step, so you immediately get contextual activity on Salesforce record pages. If you log in with Hushly, you can connect to Salesforce later in Settings.

  3. What is a PURL?

A Personalized URL: a unique link to a Hushly ABM page, tailored to a specific person and (optionally) tagged with campaign tracking. You generate it, copy it, and send it to your contact.

  4. What does Test Mode do?

It adds a preview flag to the link so you can open the ABM page yourself to check it, without your visit being counted as a real engagement.

  5. Why don't I see all of my company's accounts?

By default you see accounts where you're the rep. Admins can switch between View My Accounts only and View All Accounts in Settings.

  6. Production vs Sandbox: which do I pick?

Most users should keep Production. Only choose Sandbox if your team specifically tells you to.

  7. How do I switch accounts?

Settings -> Log out, then sign back in. Your saved Salesforce environment choice is kept; everything else is cleared.

Getting Help

If something isn't working and the troubleshooting steps didn't fix it:

  • Account or access issues (not seeing accounts, or need to be added as a rep): contact your Hushly admin.

  • Technical problems or bugs: reach out to support@hushly.com.

  • Salesforce connection or environment questions: check with your Salesforce admin first, then support@hushly.com.

When reporting a problem, it helps to include which screen you were on, what you expected, what happened instead, and a screenshot if you can.
