ABM Pages with Track Anonymous Visitor

Modified on Mon, 14 Apr at 1:40 AM

The Track Anonymous Visitor feature allows Hushly to monitor and log interactions from users who access the base URL. Their activity is logged anonymously, and no personal identification details are captured. Such visitors are often tagged with a generic label like "Guest" or "Unknown."  In Hushly, these Account Visitors are labeled as Guests, and the Account is labeled as Unknown.

How to configure an ABM Page with a Track Anonymous Visitor

  • From the Left Nav Menu > Go to ABM > Pages.

Or, if navigating through a Hub:

Select the desired Hub > from the Hub Menu > click ABM Pages.

  • On the ABM Listing Page, select an ABM Page.

  • Click the Configure tab. The Configuration tab opens with three sections, Metadata, SEO, and Custom Fields.

  • Click Metadata to open the section. Metadata Fields provide general information about the page. The fields are Account Name, Description, URL Path, Default Account, Allow Inferred Accounts, Partner, and Folder.

  • Enable Track Anonymous Visitor and click Update.

  • Configure the ABM page and Publish. To know more on how to configure an ABM Page, click here.

How a Track Anonymous Visitor functions in Runtime

  • If the Track Anonymous Visitor option is not enabled and the visitor accesses the base URL of an ABM Page, the Account Visitor is not created in the system.

  • If the Track Anonymous Visitor option is enabled.
    • New Visitor: When a visitor accesses the base URL of an ABM page, they are registered as a Guest visitor with the company listed as Unknown. However, if the same visitor accesses a URL containing an email parameter (i.e., em=xxx@xxxx.com), the system updates the visitor to an Account Visitor, adding the email details, and the company is updated from Unknown to the domain associated with the visitor's email.

    • New Visitor with an Existing Account in the System: If a new visitor accesses the base URL with an email domain existing already in the system, the Account Visitor is created by the system with the Account Name associated with the visitor's email.

    • Known Visitor: If the Guest visitor accesses the base URL the second time and submits a form with his email address, the Guest visitor details (First and Last name and email) are updated and the company is updated from Unknown to the domain associated with the visitor's email.
