The Markdown Text Editor, located within the Content Panel, adds formatting such as bold, italics, links, images, quotes, and lists. By simply selecting options, you'll insert the right syntax when adding your texts or images.
Access the panel by clicking on any text within the ABM Page editor.
Using the Markdown Options
Bold:
- Click on the "Bold" option in the toolbar.
- You'll see `**` in the text field and place your text between these `**` to make it bold.
Italics:
- Click on the "Italics" option in the toolbar.
- You'll see `*` in the text field and place your text between these `*` to make it Italic.
HR (Horizontal Rule):
- Click on the "HR" option in the toolbar.
- A line of `---` will be added to the text field. This creates a horizontal rule in your content which adds a break between the lines of text.
Insert Title Text:
- Click on the "Insert Title" option in the toolbar.
- You'll see a `#` in the text field followed by a space.
- Type your title text after the `#` to insert your text in the Title format.
- Add more `#` symbols to create subheadings as seen in the example below.
Add Link:
- Click on the "Add Link" option in the toolbar.
- In the text field, you'll see `[ ](URL Here)`.
- Add any text you want to display in the brackets for the link.
- Replace "URL" with the actual URL you want to link to.
Insert Quote:
- Click on the "Insert Quote" option in the toolbar.
- In the text field, you'll see a `>` symbol.
- Type your quoted text after the `>` to create a blockquote.
Add Image:
- Click on the "Add Image" option in the toolbar.
- Replace "Image URL" with the actual URL of the image.
Note: An Image URL can be obtained by right-clicking on an online image and selecting Copy Image Address. If you do not see the option, contact your Systems Administrator.
Add Unordered List:
- Click on the "Add Unordered List" option in the toolbar.
- You'll see `- ` in the text field followed by a space.
- Type your list item after the `- ` to create an unordered list.
Add Ordered List:
- Click on the "Add Ordered List" option in the toolbar.
- In the text field, you'll see `1. ` followed by a space.
- Type your list item after the `1. ` to create an ordered list.
By following these steps, you can effectively use the provided options in the markdown text editor to format your content with the appropriate markdown syntax.
