Adding a Asset Custom Field

Modified on Thu, 28 Nov at 11:25 PM

You can define custom fields for Assets to add additional information. When published to your Marketing Automation Platform (MAP), the additional information can be used to categorize the leads based on the Assets the users consumed.

A custom field defined for Assets is available to all Assets managed by Hushly. However, you have to associate the field with an Asset while uploading an Asset in the Setup section of the Asset.

To add a custom field for Asset management, you can follow the below steps:

  • From the Left Nav, click Setup > Field Management.

  • By default, Lead Fields is displayed. Click the Lead Fields drop-down arrow to select Asset.
  • Click New Custom Field.

  • In the Add Custom Field pop-up window, enter the name of the custom field.

  • Edit the code as needed. This code is auto-generated when you enter a name and is used to capture button-click events. This field is intended for internal use only.

  • By default, the Hidden button is set to No.  Set it to Yes (optional) to hide the field in the Setup > Custom Fields section of an Asset.

  • Click the Field Type drop-down list to choose Picklist or Textbox.
    1. Select Field Type: Picklist to provide a list of choices.
      • Optionally, add a default value.
      • Click +Add Value to add values (labels).
      • The values will display in the order they were added but can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them into the desired sequence.
      • The values can also be sorted by clicking on the Sort Alphabetically link.
      •  Click the Show Internal Values link. The Internal values labels are displayed alongside the configured values. You can make changes (optional). Click the Hide Column link to hide the Internal Value column.

      • Click Save. The custom field is created.

    2. Alternatively, select the field type as Textbox to provide for text entry.
      • Click the Data Type drop-down list. Select the String option for accepting text input or Number to accept numeric input into the field.

      • Enter a Default Value (optional)
  • Click Save. The custom Asset field is added to the list of Asset fields with the icon.
